Monsoon Seasons

Sri Lanka experiences two main monsoon periods:

• Northeast Monsoon (November to February): Affects the eastern and northern regions of the island.

These alternating monsoons ensure that when one region receives rain, the other side of the island often enjoys dry and sunny weather. This makes Sri Lanka a year-round destination.

Best Time to Visit

• West & South Coasts / Hill Country: December to April is the best period for sunshine and calm seas.
• East Coast: May to September offers ideal beach weather with clear skies and calm waters.
