Overview

Just a few minutes from Sigiriya, Pidurangala Rock offers a peaceful alternative with one of the best views in Sri Lanka. It's less crowded, more rugged, and just as unforgettable.

The trail begins at an ancient monastery. As you climb, you’ll pass a giant reclining Buddha carved from stone. The upper part of the hike is steeper, with boulders to climb over — but it’s worth the effort.

From the summit, you’ll get a perfect panoramic view of Sigiriya Rock, rising from the forest like a stone lion. The sunset or sunrise here is simply breathtaking.

Pidurangala is ideal for adventurous travelers, photographers, and nature lovers. It’s raw, real, and rewarding.
